Boeing 787 Crashes Minutes After Takeoff in
Ahmedabad, killing of 241 people onboard.
Ahmedabad, 12 June 2025 – Is one of the most fatal air disasters in Indian history, the India flight AI 171, a Boeing 707 Jetliner bound for London, crashed shortly after takeoff from Ahmedabad Airport. The flight carrying 230 passengers and 12 crew members, met a catastrophic failure moments shortly after takeoff. Witnessed report that the plane struggled to gain altitude. Within seconds, the
aircraft unnaturally left to fly at high altitude and then it got crashed into the BJ Medical College hostel premises. There were total 242 passengers, where 241 and 20 on ground died and only one survived and almost 40 people are in critical condition. The survivor VISHWASH KUMAR RAMESH later shared his trauma and according to him, the plane started shaking violently, then came a loud bang and darkness.

India’s Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau has launched an investigation.
According to some experts, the aircraft failed to attain the correct lift during takeoff and possibly it must be a malfunction. PM Narendra Modi visited the site and declared 13th June a day of national mourning. Even British PM Keir Starmer and King Charles III also extended their Condolences, as UK was the first destination and many victims were from British
origin. Social media turns as an anger, and many questioned about the reason for using
older aircraft, negligence in pre-flight checks. The Tata Group, now owned Air India, has promised full cooperation and 1 crore compensation for each victim's families.
The Air India 171 flight crash is not just an aviation accident but a fatal tragedy which will be remembered for decades. As investigations continued, now there should be checks on the plane and proper new planes should be used for future and proper lessons should be taken too for Indian aviation safety.
